Sugarmons - An Unique iOS Puzzle Game

Sugarmons

Sugarmons (Free) is released on 19th Nov 2014 by Kristina Seong (Honey Code Games). Sugarmons is a puzzle game which looks similar with Candy Crush, Candy Crush Soda Sago, etc. However, Sugarmons doesn't offers spam lives to your Facebook friends and Sugarmons is not by level based where the puzzle will getting harder to complete.

Sugarmons's objective is simple, there is only one level and given one minute to score as much points as possible. The game rule is simple, match 3 or more destroy monster block and match 5 or more to have a special elemental orbs. There are 4 types of monster blocks (Character) such as red (fire), green(wind), blue (water), and yellow (lighting). Each special elemental orbs have different effects in the game, those orbs will either destroy horizontal row, vertical row, or by explosion. Another feature is swipes monster block as fast as possible to unlock time bonus, where this time bonus allows to extend your game time. This is a really good feature to score more points within one minutes!

Another unique features of Sugarmons is customised characters and that characters then will import into gameplay. For example, you buy and equip sunglass into red monster block, when you play next game your red monster block is equipped with sunglass in the game, which will be another gameplay experience to players. There are thousands of combination to customise from body to costume in the game. You buy customised items in the shop and equip it in wardrobe. Item only purchased once and equip it in all your characters. Some of the cool or nice looking items required Lollipop (iAP currency) to purchase.
This is the feature that I personally like the most, I can design my own block and differentiate them so I can recognise them easily in the game!

There are 2 types of currency in the game, which is normal for free game. One is Candy (in game money), and another one is Lollipop (iAP currency). You earn both currency while playing Sugarmons, but chances of getting Lollipop is relative low. While earning Candy not really high too, each game you will earns about 10-30. Maybe more that that, depends on how fast you swipes the block as both currency are hidden in the game. iAP currency is not necessary to complete the game, iAP mostly used to purchase items in shop and remove ads ($4.99). If you thinks Kristina Seong (Honey Code Games) doing a good job in this game, just buy some iAPs to support them to make even better game in future!

Every game you played, you earn some Candies, some experiences, and some bonus points to add into your final score. Each time you level up, you are given a chance to select 3 stars out of 9 stars which is similar to treasure boxes. Sometimes I got unique items, but most of time I got small amount of Candies. Each game requires one live to play, this live is not similar to Candy Crush where you sent request to spam your friends in Facebook. Instead Sugarmons try with this alternative, whenever you share your score or  you leveled up to social media, you will recover one live.

If you like achievements and leaderboard in Game Center like what I do, then Sugarmons is your choice to get more achievements points! I myself like games that comes with achievements as I like to get achievement points and race those points against my game center friends!
